College History

As per the felt need of the citizens of Malegaon city specially for women education late freedom fighter Alhaj Haroon Ahmed Ansari Saheb, founder of J.A.T. Educational Trust started Senior College in 1989, under the title, J.A.T. Arts, Science and Commerce College (for Women), Malegaon. At present, the college is full-fledged and leading institute for girls’ education belonging to all communities and especially for Muslim minority community under the guidance of Chairman Hon’ble Ansari Nehal Ahmed Md. Haroon Saheb and other members of the management.

The college is justly heading towards quality initiation, maintenance and enhancement in higher education. Abiding by all the UGC and University norms, the college regularly conducts curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities without fail. After completing over three decades, the college, every year, enrolls more than 1000 students in Arts, Science and Computer Science streams. This proves changing views as well as condition of Muslim minority community.

The college is situated amidst old and new bus stands and both are at the walking distance of two minutes only. The institute building is three-storeyed splendid structure with specialized and ICT enabled Lecture Halls, Laboratories and Library with Wi-Fi and Reading Room facilities. It also has Gymnasium, Canteen, and Common Room for the utilization of students.

The college added new programmes like B. Sc. Computer Science in 2010-11 and M. Sc. (Inorganic Chemistry) in 2012-13 in its regular programmes. Both newly-added programmes are making their distinctive marks in terms of academic excellence.

The college emphasizes on holistic development of the students like Critical and Analytical Thinking, work ethics and personality development. The college aspires to create an individual who absorb socio-economic and cultural environment and overcome the challenges to enrich them by personal qualities and intelligence.

Attendance of the students is always more than 80% and the academic result every year in some departments 90% to 100% and some departments flaunt even 100% result which is highly appreciable. All the internal as well as external stakeholders provide positive back up to strengthen the institute quantitatively and qualitatively.

The college is twice Assessed and Accredited by NAAC in previous two cycles in 2004 and 2013 and is hopefully ready to face the third cycle.

All the teachers are very sincere and honest in their duties. They consider their profession as one of the most spiritual professions of the world and the non-teaching staff is quite hard working. The success and fame of the institute is the result of combined efforts made by management, administrators, employers, parents, students, teachers and non- teaching staff.
