J.A.T. Arts, Science and Commerce College (for Women) is being the minority institution tries its best to impart the boon of education to the girl students of minority communities. In its vision, it has clearly specified that it is determined to make an awareness of the changing needs of the modern Indian society with the challenges and opportunities available amongst the women from the minority communities. Today we can flauntingly state that this institute has considerably imparted higher education to economically backward class from minority communities. Every year more than 1000 girl students are enrolled into the institute and they get quality education here. The college provides the students with all the academic and administrative facilities so that the students do all their works with maximum ease. Because of its quality education and state of art facilities the college is continuously in great demand for girls’ higher education. The college offers Arts, Science and Computer Science degree courses.
For the moral well-being of the students the college organizes twice a month value-education facility by inviting religious teachers and priests from various institutes. During the sessions they are imbibed with moral lessons that are very fruitful with the humanitarian point of view. Students are also equipped with the knowledge of Emotional Intelligence and Graduate Attributes in order them to take self-motivated and self-directed action to implement them. We nurture multicultural outlook of the students so that they respect and value human and cultural diversity. They are also taught sympathy, empathy and such other social values for a peaceful co-existence in a society as a good human being. They are also taught to respect and value nature through Environmental education, programmes and activities. Every year students take part in Tree Plantation Drives and contribute in environmental sustainability.
The college not only imparts higher education to the students but also takes care of their educational progression. It encourages the students to continue their education even after completing the graduation and post-graduation. A large number of students opt for Bachelor of Education after completing their graduation and post-graduation. And many more go for their further studies. Today the college has contributed a lot in creating awareness of the role of higher education amongst the women and building up a democratic secular society. The college is also responsible for creating women empowerment and gender equity awareness among masses.
The college boasts of boosting up self-confidence among girl students and making them familiar with the use of ICT facilities like the back of their hands.To prop the assertion with evidence, we can say that the final tear exam of 2019-20 was fully conducted through online mode. Without any exception, all the students successfully gave the examination. We have made optimum use of ICT compulsory for all teaching, learning and evaluative purposes.
Finally, we can say that J.A.T. Arts, Science and Commerce College (for Women) is playing the role of a catalyst for the social and educational change of its locality and feeling proud of imparting education to the girls of minority communities and as a result, contributing in women empowerment.
